Mary Jo's Story
You might remember me as Mary Jo Myers. Or maybe you do not. I joined the Navy the fall of 1974. I married and had two daughters, divorced after 16 years and was single for nearly twelve. God is gracious and I am now married to the best man on the planet... We have an eight year old, ( what were we thinking right??? LOL) Any way life is good. I gave up teaching and am a stay at home mom, and we home-school.
WE have discovered the world of ice skating. Our girl has some natural talent and while it is more or less for fun its' neat to have a child who has some skill to enjoy.
My grown girls have given grandchildren to us and we revel in them. Currently we live in KY. Seems no matter where else I move in a few years I am right back in KY. LOL I'd love to find my way back to Oregon/Washington, but for now we are here. David is retiring this year from thirty-three years of being a Band Director.
Ladies if you are looking for a good man, find a "band-nerd" they are the best of the best.
An update of sorts; our 'baby' will soon be nine and its been a year of extremes... 2012 has been an inspiration so far. We live it in a divine walk, called "366 days of surprises" it has been exactly that!
My earthly hero is my husband.... my childhood hero, was my dad and my school days ...Expand for more
hero was a fellow whose camp counselor name was "Wapati". For a teen-ager, he said some wise and wonderful words that have lived in me for decades.
LOL there is a huge difference in being slow and in being patient! This I learned from my children.
My Oldest friend just had a two surgeries for cancer. Drat that C word. the out come has been very good, if the word 'good' could be actually connected with cancer. Why we actually clicked I will never know. Bo was in full uniform the first day of school, right down to the cap. I liked that. more than 45 years later. We have weathered all the friendship tests.
If you are still reading...my ultimate companion in this life and the next is Jesus Christ, the Father and Holy Spirit. they are One in All. How you might ask? Three ways to connect and "see" the same Being. Three ways to experience what is genuine and real. Three ways to have relationship and know love that is pure, powerful and righteous, the word 'love' does no justice. He taught me to love myself and love others, 'just because we are". Here is the answer to one of life's ultimate question. What are we here for? We are her to discover the purpose of our creation--and to reach out to the Source of that creation...
Be well and be blessed.
